Side Hustle Graphic Design Portfolio project 4- Designing a key card for a luxurious hotel.
The side hustle bootcamp cohort 5 is gradually coming to an end, we have done 4 weeks out of 6 weeks. It has not been easy so far, from merging our busy schedules to having to meet up with deadlines for projects. There is one common saying that says "No pain, No gain", the bootcamp is actually a training ground where we learn how to collaborate with others and get things done. The bootcamp also gives us an hint on what the industry we look like, the pressure and so on.
This week, our project was to design an hotel key card for a luxurious hotel.
Key Card
A key card is a small plastic card, sometimes used instead of a door key in hotels, bearing magnetically encoded data that can be read and processed by an electronic device. The key card stores a physical or digital pattern that the door mechanism accepts before disengaging the lock. Key Cards are used as an alternatives to mechanical keys.
Design of the Hotel Key Card
Since we are asked to design an hotel key card for a luxurious hotel, we decided to come up with a name and logo that would suite a luxurious hotel. We came up with Alexis hotel and Grand Spring hotel, we decided to vote and choose a name. Alexis hotel was chosen and then a logo was designed for the name. Then to design the hotel key card, we designed a flat design of the hotel key card and the key card holder. The flat designs were then placed on a design mockup.
